National Museum and Temple of Heaven

In the morning Sam and I headed to the National Museum. We then went to the Temple of Heaven which served as the holiest site for the emperors. The emperors would abstain from alcohol, meat, women and music for three days before entering the temple of good harvest. The grounds have a really nice park and many Chinese gather there to sing, play hackey sack and Chinese checkers.

Today we took a bullet train to Xi'an. The train ride was five hours. By bus it would've been 14 hours. We headed to a mosque which was built in the. 700's. Traders along the Silk Road would stop and Xi'an and this how Islam was brought into the area.
