Terra Cotta Warriors, Neolithic Museum and Big Goose Pagoda

Another dream came true today! We visited the Terra Cotta Warrior museum near Xi'an. The terra cotta soldiers were created to protect the first emperor of China, Shi Huangdi. It is estimated that it took 700,000 men to build his tomb. The tomb took 37 years to build and was built around 200 BC. It is an overwhelmingly impressive site. It was not rediscovered until 1974 by farmers who were digging for a well. Each of the warriors are replicated from actual soldiers. A lot of places don't live up to what you picture them. However this was not the case today. I was blown away with the tomb!
